Boston Area Pet Podcasts (No, the Pets Don’t Talk)

Can any of us who have pets ever talk enough about them? We can sum up a book we read in a few sentences, but ask us about our cats, dogs, horses, birds and we’ll keep going until people suddenly remember a previous engagement.

So we were delighted to find out there are Boston-area podcasts for and about pet owners! Here are two of our favorites…

FitPet Boston – Host Leah interviews fellow Boston-area dog handlers about their lives, their dogs and their careers, and listeners and guests share tips about training and pet care.

Boston Veterinary Clinic’s Tails from the City – Dr. Brian Bourquin and guests talk about the unique issues faced by city dwellers and their pets for a fun look at the urban human-pet bond.

And, for those of us who have lost a beloved pet, we were happy to learn about Animal Chaplain Kaleel Sakakeeny’s interview on the terrific local podcast “On Mic with Jordan Rich.” Rev K shares stories of his work with people and pets, and takes questions about love, loss and the special relationships we have with our animal companions. Give these podcasts a listen when you’re walking, driving or just taking a break.
