Mural: Jackson Pollock | Katharina Grosse
Painted in 1943, “Mural” spans nearly 20’x8.’ It’s Pollock’s largest work. and is considered one of his greatest career achievements because it marks the period when he started to develop his famous drip technique.
The MFA is showcasing Mural with a new commissioned work by German artist Katharina Grosse, who is also renowned for creating large works.
Taken together, these breathtaking and massive works of art show us how each of these groundbreaking artists developed what became instantly-recognizable styles.
