West Roxbury
West Roxbury is one of 23 neighborhoods in Boston. It was first settled in 1630, and officially founded in 1851. West Roxbury’s borders are Hyde Park, Roslindale, Brookline, Newton and Dedham. Originally, West Roxbury was mostly farmland. It’s also home to the second oldest public school in the United States – Roxbury Latin School, which was founded in 1645.
