HERStory: Calling All Roslindale Women!

Janice Williams has lived in Roslindale for 27 years, and now she’s publishing a book to document as many women as she can who want to record their moments in Roslindale’s history.

Janice explains: “When I moved to Roslindale, I was handed a document entitled “Roslindale – Suburb Superb,” by David P. Kunze and Judy C. Kunze, that had a positive influence on me. Throughout my 27 years in Roslindale I have witnessed the growth of an amazing community. I particularly have been moved by the many women who have contributed. This book is my way of keeping some of the history available for future generations.”

Janice is pulling together photos and short bios of women who work and live in Roslindale to document this special demographic who makes the community exceptional day in and day out. Janice plans to self-publish the book, with 10% of the sale proceeds going to Roslindale Village Main Street.

If you’re interested, send Janice an email at [email protected] with “The Women of Roslindale” in the subject line. Include a selfie head shot photo of yourself and a small bio with a maximum of 100 words of what you want people to know and remember about you. (Text over 100 words will be edited at the publisher’s discretion.) Include a phone number and where you live or work in Roslindale (this will not be published).

And please share this information with other women who might want to be part of this project, including women who once lived or worked and Roslindale, but have moved. Janice reports that dozens of women have already signed up to participate, so get in touch with her today and be part of this special and historic project!
