Fun September Events for Women in Boston!

Now that we’re slowly coming back from the beach, the pool, the islands and putting on shoes again we scoured Boston and surrounding towns for fun events we can do with our women friends next month. Let us know if you have an event you’d like us to tell everyone about! – XO The Team

Candle Making Workshop & Wine, offering several dates in September, 6:30-9pm at the House of Art & Craft, Western Avenue, Boston – Bring your friends for a fun and creative candle workshop evening – what a great way to create an experience and memories. Your workshop includes step-by-step instruction, you get to choose your candle fragrance (if you want a fragrance), a glass jar that you can use when the candle runs out, the wax to make your candle, a 10% discount off their entire retail store on the day of your workshop, and a glass of wine. Global Jazz Club Presents Camila Cortina, September 7, 7-9pm, at the Arlington Street Church, Boston –  Gather your pals for an exceptional musical performance featuring the wildly talented Cuban artist Camila Cortina. Tickets are $10/person, $20 for front row seating. (Not enough jazz? After the concert, stay for a Global Jazz Club’s signature all-female musician Jam Session!) Somer Fest 2022, September 9, 7-9pm, Seven Hills Park in Somerville – Somer Fest offers culturally rich entertainment for the local community by highlighting people of color. The fourth annual event of this free performance art festival features a live DJ as well as folk, R&B, Hip-Hop and genre-fusion performances from soloists and bands alike. It’s funded in part by the Somerville Arts Council. To learn more click here

Farm to Table Tasting 2022, September 10, 5-8pm at the Mt. Hood Municipal Golf Course, Melrose – This annual fundraiser offers delicious local, seasonal food created by local chefs: David Drew of Cambridge Brewing Company, Suman Shah of Fork on a Road, Lorenzo Tenreiro of T’ahpas 529 and La Qchara, and Robin Peevey of Buckalew’s General Store. All proceeds benefit the Melrose Farmers’ Market operations, programming and SNAP match. Tickets are available until September 9, and are $70.59/person, which includes dinner and desserts. Bourbon & Blues, September 12 and 19, 6-9pm at the Liberty Hotel Lobby Bar, Boston –Bring your crew for a night of live blues music featuring the fabulous band Hot Sauce, and bourbon tasting. September 12 features Jefferson’s Bourbon; September 19 will feature Rabbit Hole Bourbon – yes, please! The event is free. To register click here

Caribbean Rum & Food Festival, September 17, 12-8pm at Roxbury Community College, Boston – This fantastic event showcases Caribbean products, rums and cocktails, arts and crafts, entertainment, and more. Proceeds benefit the Authentic Caribbean Foundation’s disability program. You must show ID proving you’re at least 21 years old (that should not be a problem). Tickets range from $20 to $60  (and include a complimentary rum punch!). To learn more and register click here

2022 Boston Local Food Festival, September 18, 11am-5pm at the Rose Fitzgerald Greenway – This fun event attracts thousands of guests every year to enjoy delicious food from over 75 local food vendors, great views, and fun in the sun! Sponsored by the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts. Admission is free. To register and for more info click here

Gardening Together: The Harvest, September 24, 11am-3pm, Loring Greenough House, Boston – Bring your friends to a celebration of all things autumn for this lively pop-up festival celebrating the annual harvest. And, Jamaica Plain Open Studios are also happening the same day, same place! Tickets for this free event are not required, but if you RSVP you’ll get a reminder via email before the event. It’s All A Bunch Of Hocus Pocus Drag Lunch! With Mizery, September 24, 2-4:30pm at the Derby Restaurant, Salem – Join drag performer Mizery and her crew for a fun brunch, music, and lip-synching, with a special menu designed and inspired by Hocus Pocus. Nothing says October is coming like celebrating the witches that made Salem famous. Tickets are $25/person, which does not include food or drinks. To learn more and register click here
